- Urine Analysis:
Urine is periodically checked during the pregnancy for various diseases and risks. The glucose levels in the urine are tested for diabetes. The protein content is checked along with Red and white blood corpuscles for kidney or urinary problems. Vaginal fluids are also checked for infections like herpes, gonorrhea that might be passed on to the baby.
Incase an infection is found in the urine then a urine culture test is undertaken to check for bacteria present and the treatments which can be used to defer any kind of risks in the prenancy. High amounts of protein can translate into pregnancy related hypertension and lead to pre-eclampsia or toxemia. - Blood Pressure:
