• Genetic Carrier Screening
  These tests are done for specific genetic conditions that might be present in a particular sect or ethnicity. The child should get two gene from both the parents to inherit such a condition. For example Thalassemia is common among: Greek, Italian, southeast Asians and Hispanics whereas Tay-Sachs disease, Canavan disease, familial dysautonomia and cystic fibrosis is common for Ashkenazi Eastern European Jews.
