- Glucose Tolerance Test
This test is usually taken between 24 to 28 weeks of prenancy to avoid Gestational Diabetes. This test measures the levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood and checks for Abnormal glucose levels. It is a special kind of diabetes common amongst pregnant women and might diminish after childbirth. However, women who do get such diabetes are a risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes in the future. - Doppler Non Stress Test

Do remember to ask your doctor on all the tests and their results. One has the right to know the reasons for getting a test done, the procedure involved, the cost, the preparation needed and the importance of the results for a healthy prenancy. Read about the tests in literature and also talk to it about people who have had deliveries or expecting mothers. Don’t just go for a test because the doctor does it for all his/ her patients. Ask for the validity and the reasons behind everything, as some tests can be painful and sometimes dangerous. Be well informed and prepared for all kinds of consequences and results.
