  • Lead a normal and healthy lifestyle during pregnancy by taking a healthy diet. Keep in mind that the baby eats the food taken by you.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol as it might harm the baby in some way. Try and not to take in second hand smoke and keep away from polluted surroundings.
  • Consult your obstetrician and take in nutritious food to ensure adequate supply of the same to the foetus. Balance the carbohydrates, proteins , vitamins and fat by eating variety of foods. Green vegetables should be eaten to obtain folic acid as it is very important in the prenancy.
  • Don’t eat stale or leftover food as it might create problems for the baby. Remember that the food should be adequate for the foetus to develop into a baby and contains all essential nutrients.
  • Breathe fresh air and exercise regularly to keep the body fit for handling childbirth. Many regions have special exercise classes for pregnant women that aids in movement throughout the nine months.
  • Take your medicines on time and let your body function properly by avoiding too much of physical and mental stress.
  • Take up prenatal counseling along with your spouse and get ready to welcome the new member. If you have kids then involve them in each process to avoid sibling rivalry at a later stage and improve family relationships.
  • Make a list of the baby care products that you might need after pregnancy and start checking out the options that you have.
